Imphal, August 27, 2014: India’s boxing ace and London Olympic bronze medalist MC Mary Kom has qualified for Asian Games to be held in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to October 4.

Mary bounced back in style, beating Pinki Jangra in the selection trials in the women’s 51kg category in Patiala today to qualify for the Asian Games.

It may be worth mentioning here that Mary lost to Pinki in the trials for the last Commonwealth Games. “I am so happy. This will be my second outing in Asian Games,” said Mary.

Mary’s husband Onler Kom said, “I can only say Mary beat her with a big margin”.

Mary had won a historic bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, but had to take a lengthy 18-month lay-off following gall bladder surgery last September and giving birth to her third son, Prince. Earlier in May, she decided to make a comeback underwent a rigorous training camp.
