Namchi, September 13, 2014: Bye-poll for the 15 Rangang-Yangang Assembly Constituency started as scheduled today. The final voter’s turnout in the Bye Election of 15 Rangang-Yangang Assembly Constituency is 79.23% out of which male voters were 4,966 and female voters were 4,343.
In addition there were no reports of law and order situation from any of the 14 Polling Stations located in the constituency. The polling process in the 14 Polling Station of 15 Rangang Yangang went by smoothly and the security arrangements made by the District Police in all the Polling Stations were in place. Similarly, various line departments stayed alert to provide essential service in and around the Polling Stations.
It may be mentioned here that two critical Polling Stations namely 15/10 Kolthang and 15/14 Nehbrum recorded no interruption or obstruction of poll due to violence, natural calamity or any other cause. The first polling team to arrive in the strong room at 7: 30 p.m. is 15/9 Sangmo “B” under sector AC-15/3. It may be informed that four polling teams have already reached the strong room while the rest of the polling teams from the polling stations located in 15 Rangang- Yangang Constituency are expected to arrive shortly.
The Returning Officer Mr. Prabhakar Verma for Bye-Election of 15 Rangang – Yangang Assembly Constituency has informed that the scrutiny of poll documents will take place at 11 a.m. on 14th September at DAC Conference Hall in the presence of candidates along with their election agents. Further he informed that training of counting supervisors and counting agents will take place at 11 a.m. at DAC Conference Hall on 15th September 2014.
