Imphal, October 20, 2014: The Thadou Students' Association (TSA) has vehemently condemned the mob attack on students from the North East at Karnataka.Secretary Information and Publicity of TSA Helun Sitlhou in a press release said that since Bangalore is a city which has a number of out station students particularly from Northeast, the Central Government, Karnataka Government and Manipur Government should strike a tripartite agreement regarding the issue.
It said that the latest attack was on Michael Haokip (26), Ngamkholen Haokip (28) and Rocky Kipgen (25) who are the future leaders of the State and also present president and executive members of the Thadou Students' Association, Bangalore respectively.
It further said that all these are the indirect consequences of ill governance of the State Government failing to maintain law and order. Almost all the educational institutions of the State could not cover the syllabus and the failure of the Government to introduce new and different professional courses in the State has propelled students to go outside.
Even as the Central Government has provided provisions for free and compulsory education in the State, the State Government has failed to implement this programme. And due to the lack of various amenities in the State, parents send their wards outside for pursuing their career.
Further, the TSA has appealed Chief Minister O lbobi Singh to immediately intervene into the matter and bring an amicable solution regarding the Bangalore incident.
The TSA also extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) for their timely intervention in the matter and added that the TSA will unitedly work with DESAM specially in this issue.
