40 gms heroin worth Rs 1.8 lakh seized

Aizawl, September 20, 2014: Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department's Anti Narcotic Squad seized 40 grams of heroin from two places in Aizawl, department officials said today.

The officials said that 32.5 grams of heroin was seized from Lalrinzuali (40) of Falam, Myanmar while 7.5 grams of heroin was seized from Biaklala (20) of Zemabawk near Aizawl yesterday.

The contraband was worth around Rs 1.8 lakh in the local MARKET, the officials said, adding that the two accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
