The first ground of the Nehru Stadium is all set for the opening match of the 63rd edition of the championship. Former GSA president will inaugurate the tournament while former Santosh Trophy player Tapash Chaterjee will be the guest of honour in the opening ceremony.
The organisers have to depend on the financial support of the sponsors for running the tournament as the collection from the tickets is becoming nominal these days.
This year, the tournament is confined to 12 teams and it will be played in knockout basis. The final has been slated for September 28.
