Haflong, September 11, 2014: The NCHAC Chief Executive Member Debojeet Thaosen said that the current cease-work agitation by the NCHAC Employees’ Union since September 9 is unacceptable.
Though the Council is in full empathy with the issues relating to non-payment of salaries, regular payment and demands of 100% increase of DA, the decision of the employees union to agitate has come as an obstacle to the process undertaken by the State government as well as the Council to release the funds already granted.
It may be mentioned here that the State government has earmarked Rs 30 crore for payment of salaries. However, the strike by the employees’ union has delayed the process and as a result the employees may not get their salaries before the Durga Puja. The Council authorities hold the employees’ union solely responsible for the delay in payment of salaries.
Thaosen further said that the State government has already granted aid and the process is on at Dispur. The officials and employees involved in the file works at the Council and the Secretariat are well aware about it. Further, there is also an assurance by the Chief Minister himself in this regard, he said and added that such cease-work and non-cooperation by the employees will only further delay the process of payment of pending salaries, 100 per cent increase of DA and regular payment of salaries that the Council has been trying to resolve all the while.
