Guwahati, September 23, 2014: The Borjhar-based Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) here has warned of heavy to very heavy rains at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya with extremely heavy rainfalls at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya on September 23 and heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya on September 24 and 25 and over Arunachal Pradesh on September 24.

It also warned of heavy to very heavy rains at a few places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on September 23 and 24. It further said that heavy to very heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on September 25. Occurrence of heavy rain at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh on September 25 has also been warned by the RMC in its bulletin this afternoon.

The RMC has also forecast continuation of thunderstorm and rains in Guwahati till September 29.

However, RMC Meteorologist Sunit Das told this newspaper that chances are there of a little improvement in the weather condition of Lower Assam areas from tomorrow onwards. But, in the Upper Assam areas, rainfall activities are likely to continue for the next 2-3 days, he said.
