Mokokchung, September 11, 2014: One migrant construction worker from Bihar died after consuming bamboo-shoot juice, a Naga local food delicacy on September 10.

According to sources and police report, the victim has been identified as Manto Prasad, son of Pancham from Pali village under Gorkarpur, Bihar. According to sources, the victim was currently working at the ongoing new construction of Alempang ward church.

It was learnt that the victim along with his friend Raj Kr. Singh, who was also recuperating at the district hospital bought the juice and consumed, reportedly thinking it to be some local wine.

However, his friend’s condition is stated to be out of danger after being treated. The body of the deceased has been sent to his home district after post-mortem was conducted and an investigation by the police.
