Aizawl, September 14, 2014 (NNN): Laldinthara Renthlei (43), the news editor of LPS Vision (local cable) passed away at Zemabawk Cancer Hospital on Saturday around 11 a.m after a long battle with cancer.

His body was taken to his residence at Chanmari West and was buried on Sunday after it was lamented the whole night.

Laldinthara was the news editor of LPS Vision and a member of Mizoram Journalists Association (MJA) when he passed away.

Laldinthara alias Thartea had a persistent nose bleeding complaint since September last year.

After consulting an ENT specialist, it was found that he had supernumerary tissue on his nose.

Later, when a biopsy was taken the editor was found suffering from cancer and was referred to B.Baruah Cancer Institute, Guwahati where he was examined and given intensive treatment.

On learning his condition critical as the cancer had infected his brain, he was sent back to Mizoram for he need a sophisticated tools to treat his disease.

For some time he had been treated at Zemabawk Cancer Hospital, Aizawl taking radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

While he was seen improving from his illness, he died of a sudden leaving his wife and 3 children behind.
