Aizawl, September 11, 2014 (NNN): A week-long Mumbai International Film Festival would begin from September 15 in Mizoram. The event is organised jointly by Mumbai-based Films Division under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Information and Public Relations Department under Mizoram government.

Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla would inaugurate the Film Festival at 1.00 pm on the appointed day.

A Film making workshop would also be organised during the Film Festival, sources said. The Mizo film ‘Chengrang Lanu’, directed by Malsawmkima Chhangte, would inaugurate the Film festival. The film, ‘Chengrang Lanu’, was included among other films selected for featuring at the Mumbai International Film Festival 2014 in Mumbai earlier this year.

Resource persons from Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) would impart a training programme to select Film Directors in the Workshop everyday (from 9am- 2pm) during the film festival. From 2pm to 4pm onwards, films selected by MIFF would be shown.

Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is held after every one year by Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Nariman Point, Mumbai.
