Dimapur, September 6, 2014: Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) Saturday held a “thanksgiving programme” on 50th year of cease-fire agreement signed between the government of India and Naga National Council (NNC) in 1964 at the Platinum Hall, Bayavü, NBCC.
A NBCC press note said various church leaders and representatives from the Baptist churches in Kohima attended the programme.
The programme was chaired by NBCC youth secretary Vikuo Rhi. Sümi Aphuyemi Baptist Church Kohima pastor Rev. Kiyeto offered the opening prayer while special songs were presented by Union Baptist Church Kohima and Lotha Baptist Church Kohima.
State chaplain Rev. K. Lurüo spoke on peace day and NBCC peace committee chairman Niketu Iralu delivered the sermon on the topic “Peace, I leave with You” (John 14:27).
NBCC staff presented a song titled Sweet Peace, the gift of God’s Love. Pastor Moba Konyak offered a thanksgiving prayer while director of Church Relation and Ministerial Training, ABCC Rev. Mekhale pronounced the benediction.
