New Delhi, August 25, 2014: Government is undecided on holding elections in Delhi and President’s Rule is likely to stay valid in the capital city till February 2015, sources said on Monday.
The sources said that the Attorney-General has been briefed about this and he is likely to submit this in the Supreme Court on September 9.
According to sources, the court cannot force the President to withdraw his rule. If before February, anyone comes up with the numbers, the government can be formed, the sources said.

The Delhi Assembly was placed under suspended animation and brought under President’s Rule in February this year after Aam Aadmi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal quit as Chief Minister within just 49 days of coming in power.
Since then, no party in the capital has staked claim to form the government albeit AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party have been clamouring for fresh elections.
Recently, the Aam Aadmi Party launched a signature campaign to pressure the BJP-led National Democartic Alliance government to dissolve the Delhi Assembly. Once the Assembly is dissolved, fresh elections have to be held within six months. The Centre, it seems, is not listening.
Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has been briefed on this view of the government which he is likley to convey to the Supreme Court on September 9, sources in the Home Ministry reiterated.
