Guwahati, September 23, 2014: An interactive session of Additional Deputy Commissioners was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro), in connection with the conduct of the ensuing CC(P) Examination 2014, to be held on September 28.

The session was presided over by RK Paul, Chairman, Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), where the Additional DCs from 22 different district headquarters, members, secretary, principal controller of examination, and other officers and staff of the Commission were present, an official release said.

The session started with a welcome address by the Chairman. He stated that the basic function of the APSC was to select the right person for the right job through its various selection processes. “Amongst them, the Combined Competitive Examination, conducted for selection to ACS and Allied Services, was the premier examination of the Commission which calls for greater efforts on the part of the district and police administrations in particular. This time, APSC is conducting the CC(P) Examination in 112 examination venues under 22 district headquarters where 52,520 numbers of total candidates are appearing,” Paul said, adding that although the Commission is making all-out efforts for conducting the examination smoothly and peacefully in all centres, it remains inconclusive without the help and cooperation on the part of the district administration.

It was discussed that the examination procedures right from the stage of advertisements are guided by different set rules/instructions for their hassle-free implementation.

With a view to making all concerned conversant with the rules, regulations and other formalities attached with the ensuing examination, the Principal Controller of Examinations of the Commission deliberated with a power-point presentation. The Commission stressed the need of help and cooperation and active involvement of all present in the session and hoped that the examination would be conducted smoothly.
