Guwahati, September 28, 2014: The Assam Public Service Commission today conducted the Combined Competitive prelim examination, 2014 in 112 venues across 22 districts in the State.
During the morning and afternoon sessions some confusion cropped up among the candidates centring around the difference in the subject code number mentioned in the admission certificate and in the question booklet. The matter was brought to the notice of the Commission.
The APSC in an official release said that the OMR answer sheets are processed on the basis of the subject mentioned by the candidate in the appropriate space provided in the sheet.
The subject code number is simply a device for corroboration, and verification of subjects taken up by the candidate if any doubt or confusion arises during the process of verification and validation.
The APSC clarified that the process of evaluation of OMR sheets shall in no way be affected due to difference in subject code number.
“The Commission undertakes to process the result with utmost care and caution. The Commission urges the candidates not to be worried and concerned,” the release added.
