Kangpokpi, September 7, 2014: The Kuki people all over the world will be observing ‘Sahnit Ni-Black Day’ on 13 September this year like any other years. The Kuki Inpi of Manipur has asked every block Inpi to inform their concerned villages to observe the day at their respective convenience after a cabinet meeting resolution, said Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills Information & Publicity Secretary Thangminlen Haokip today.
“Kukis are not targeting any community in particular by observing Black Day but are simply asking for justice to all the victims of NSCN (IM) who were attacked in the early nineties”, he said.
Continuing that around 1,000 innocent Kukis were killed and 360 villages were uprooted during the NSCN (IM)’s systematic attacks on 1992 and 1993, he said nearly one lakh villagers were displaced but the Central government has ignored these facts and hasn’t deliver justice to the victims till this day.
