Itanagar, September 15, 2014: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP, today took out a ‘Raj Bhawan Chalo’ rally here in protest against the State government’s alleged failure to contain the deteriorating law and order situation. The saffron brigade has also demanded that the Home Minister Tanga Byaling step down on moral ground.
State BJP leaders led by its president Tai Tagak, besides party MLAs, Leader of Opposition Tamiyo Taga and others took part in the protest march, on culmination of which the party submitted a seven-point memorandum to the State Governor.
The BJP has also been demanding the government to take urgent measures to contain the law and order problems, and stop fraudulent diversion of development funds and mass political transfer and postings of government employees.
While receiving the memorandum on behalf of the Governor, the Secretary to Governor Shurbir Singh informed the BJYM representatives that Raj Bhawan has been keeping a watch on the law and order problems and challenges of the State. Singh also informed that recently the Governor had given his assent to the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 2014 which provides for preventive detention of anti-social elements and habitual offenders in order to maintain public order.
