Sadar Hills civil bodies meet

Imphal, September 12, 2014: The civil bodies of Sadar Hills, The Sadar Hills Chief association SAHILCA, Kuki-Inpi, KSO, TSA and Women Union held a meeting on September 8 at Motbung in regards to the Village Development Committee contradicting the existing village authorities and the New Land Policy in the hill districts of Manipur, according to statement issued by the Secretary Information and Publicity of SAHILCA.

The civil bodies unanimously resolved to demand the State Government to cancel the creation of VDC and the proposed implementation of New Land Policy, the statement said.

The meeting further resolved that the ADC Sadar Hills should withdraw the steps being initiated to implement VDC in some pockets of Kangpokpi Sub-Division.

The statement warned of launching democratic agitation in case the demands of the civil bodies are not complied with.
