Shillong, September 19, 2014: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh today expressed regret that the State has not been able to use its huge water resource for generating power.
Speaking as chief guest at the Summit on Power Renewable organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with North Eastern Council here, the Minister said the State also has other resources like coal and uranium for generating electricity, but has not been able to utilise these resources as well.
Director, North Eastern Regional Power Committee, Shillong, Brieflee Lyngkhoi said efforts should be made by all stakeholders in power generation to bridge the shortage of power of 4000 MW-6000 MW.
