Guwahati, October 13, 2014: Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway has introduced dynamic fare structure in Tatkal tickets in three pair of regular long-distance trains and will soon expand the system to two other pairs of trains.
The system will be applicable only in bookings done through Internet.
“While 50 per cent of the Tatkal tickets are available in Internet, the rest 50 per cent is sold by PRS. The dynamic fare structure is applicable for only the Internet bookings,” said a senior NFR official. The three pairs of trains where the dynamic fare in Tatkal bookings have been introduced are the 12516/12515 Guwahati-Trivandrum-Guwahati Express, the 15930/15929 Dibrugarh-Chennai Egmore-Dibrugarh Express and the 15646/15645 Guwahati-Lokmanya Tilak-Guwahati Express.
It will soon to expanded to the 12501/02 Poorvottar Sampark Kranti and the 12510/12509 Guwahati-Bangalore-Guwahati Express.
Under the newly-introduced dynamic fare system, tickets are priced on the model of airlines with fares depending on the time of booking and availability of berths.
