Shillong, October 15, 2014: A camp of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) was busted by security forces at Sakalgre in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, police said today. A self-styled Area Commander Baichung and his aide escaped from the camp after an exchange of fire with a special police team yesterday, SP Mukesh Singh said.
Singh said the operation was launched after an information about the camp was provided by a suspect Sengrak Momin who was arrested on Monday.
One SBBL gun, three country made shotguns, one 7.65 magazine, two detonators, two ID cards and four mobile sets, among others, were recovered from the camp, he said.
