ZDV celebrates anniversary

CCPur, October 11, 2014: The Zou Defence Volunteers (ZDV), an armed group under UPF has today observed its 17th anniversary at Tangpijol village under Singngat sub-division with an impressive function attended by village chiefs of the area, public leaders and the local villagers.

With an official figure of around 37, the rebel group has undergone deadly clashes and factionalism before entering the SoO pact and had lost a considerable number of its men in the course. As it openly observed the birth of the movement, the outfit sought the blessings of elders and the common public saying its sustenance relies on their backing.

ZRO’s Kenneth represented its president as the chief guest of the event.
