Based on the specific information regarding the presence of an active UNLF cadre in the general area of Torbung, troops of Red Shield Division immediately launched an operation in intervening night of September 8 and 9 at 2.30 am.<br /> <br /> The party reached the suspected location and cordoned the houses of the area. After a through search, the party apprehended a UNLF cadre at 3.15 am.<br /> <br /> Initial investigation revealed that the apprehendee joined UNLF in 2001.<br /> <br /> In another incident, a team of district police commando unit, Imphal East, during a mobile frisking and checking duty apprehended two active members of KYKL from the road opposite Khurai Popular High School on September 7.<br /> <br /> The apprehendee has been identified as Yumnam Hitler Singh alias Amu, 25, s/o Y Jadu Singh, Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai and Gurumayum Bihari Sharma (21) s/o G Nimai Sharma of Kiyamgei Mamang Leikai.<br /> <br /> One Suzuki Access (Red) and three mobile handsets along with SIM cards were seized from their possession.<br /> <br /> On their disclosure, another active KYKL member, identified as Tensubam Tiken singh (49) s/o T Babu Singh of Khurai Kongpal Laishram Leikai was arrested on the same day from his house.<br /> <br /> Further, on his disclosure, two more active KYKL members, identified as Thokchom Meghajit Singh alias Naobi, 43, s/o (L) Th Munindro, Singjamei Kshetri Leikai and Shamurailakpam Gyaneshwor Sharma, 30, s/o Sh Abochou Sharma, Singjamei Kshetri Leikai, were arrested from Singjamei Beigyabati Leikai in front of Mata cinema hall on the same day. Two mobile handsets along with SIM cards were seized from their possession. A case has been registered at Porompat Police Station for further investigation.<br /> <br /> Source: The Sangai Express
