Kangpokpi, August 28, 2014: As part of the statewide observance of Anti Malaria Month, the State District Vector Borne Disease Control Society, Kangpokpi conducted an awareness programme at J.N.Public School and Lighthouse School, Kangpokpi here yesterday.

The awareness programme was conducted with resource persons from DMO, Kangpokpi who emphasized the various features of Malaria and its preventive measures.

Pamphlets with information on Malaria were also distributed on the occasion.

Dr.Len Kamkhosat Khongsai, DMO, Kangpokpi and Dr..NSharat Chandra, Health Supervisor (Microscopist) were the resource persons of the events.

About 42 participants from student and teacher community took part in the awareness programme held at J.N.Public School, Kangpokpi while more than 33 participants attended at Lighthouse School, Kangpokpi.

Speaking to the local media persons in this connection, Dr.Len Kamkhosat Khongsai, DMO, Kangpokpi said that today's awareness programme emphasized mainly the necessity of community participation in the programme while demanding the need to reduce Malaria by taking fever cases to health care personnel on time.

Dr..NSharat Chandra recommended the people to keep their surroundings clean while using mosquito net and to remove stagnant water from their surrounding as mosquito breeds in stagnant water.

While enlightening that Community Awareness Programme regarding Malaria will be organized tomorrow at Kangpokpi, DMO, Kangpokpi further said that in continuation of Anti Malaria Moth observance, the District Vector Borne Disease Control Society, Kangpokpi will also organize awareness programmes and District Level Inter-Sectoral Sensitization Meeting with different departments of the district till the month end.
