Guwahati, August 26, 2014: The GNRC recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Pawan Hans Limited for facilitating medi-chopper service to remote areas of the north-eastern region.

The MoU was signed by Anil Srivastava, Chairman cum Managing Director, Pawan Hans Ltd and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, and Dr Nomal Chandra Borah, Chairman cum Managing Director, GNRC Hospitals Limited, a press release issued here said.

The service, based on the concept of ‘Medireach buses – Hospitals on wheels’, will regularly ferry doctors from GNRC to difficult-to-access locations across the north-eastern region and provide doorstep medical support to the population across the eight NE States. It will also bring critical patients from remote locations to the hospital.

The medi-chopper will have ventilator and other necessary medical equipment to support patients on its way.
