Jiribam, August 27, 2014: Citing the worse condition of Jiri-Tipaimukh road, the only life line if the people living in Barak Circle Jiribam, Barak Circle Development Demand Committee has expressed regret over the apathy of Government of Manipur in the developmental works of Barak Circle, Jiribam.

Talking to media persons, General Secretary of Barak Circle Development Demand Committee Vanlalhriet Hmar today said that the BCDDC submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary of Manipur through the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Jiribam with 21 points of reasonable public demands of Barak Circle on June 16 last.

He further said that on July 7, BCDDC members again met the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam and S.O, PWD, Jiribam on the issue of worsening condition of Jiri-Tipaimukh road.

When the concerned S.O, P.W.D expressed that the department had no fund for the renovation of the road, BCDDC members requested him for doing a jungle cutting along the roadsides of Jiri Tipaimukh road.

But the S.O of P.W.D, Jiribam replied that even the department had no fund for that, Vanlalhriet Hmar recalled.

Due to incessant rainfall, the condition of Jiri Tipaimukh road is in severe condition with seven landslides and collapse of some Culverts.

The General Secretary of Barak Circle Development Demand Committee warned that if the government did not give any response on the demand for improvement of the road, BCDDC will take up necessary steps against the apathy of Government of Manipur.
