3 students hurt, 2 vehicles vandalised in Jiribam

Jiribam, September 6, 2014: Supporters of Kashimpur to Leishabithol road blockade today dismantled two vehicles of coastal construction company of Railway line, at around 11.30 am at Kashimpur Bazar when the escorted vehicles of railway Construction Company tried to pass through Leishabithol toward Kashimpur Bazar.

The registration No. of dismantle Bolero D I Turbo were MN 06L – 4590 and MN 05A – 2974. Moreover, three students were also injured in the incident.

It may be recalled that the blockade was initiated after the authorities concerned failed to heed the subsequent appeal to renovate the deploring condition of the road from Kashimpur to Leishabithol.

Residents and local students of the area tried to block the plying vehicles on the way from Kashimpur to Leishabithol. While trying to pacify the mob, the 5th MR security personnels, based in the railway construction’s company office, blank fired and injured some students.

Student thus injured were Piyarul Haque (13) s/o Farij uddin of Kashimpur, Bahrul Islam (13) s/o Jafrul uddin of Ahmadabad and Rahmana Begum (10) d/o Anam uddin of Ahmadabad. They were rushed to the Community Health Centre Jiribam for treatment.

All Manipur Students Union, District Committee, Jiribam, All Jiribam Bengali Students Union (AJBSU) and Muslim Students Organisation, (MSO), Manipur Unit has extended their support to the ongoing agitation of the local students of Leishabithol and Kashimpur. The organisations further condemned the aggressive behaviour of the 5th MR security personnels during the agitation.
