In a statement, GPRN/NSCN MIP also accused the Assam Rifles of acting against the “interests and aspirations” of the Naga people and said “meaningless raids” were conducted on September 10, 11 and 12 only to go back “empty handed”.
MIP said on September 10, around 3 am, the residence of Yetoi, 4th mile, Diphupar, Dimapur was raided and “completely ransacked by the Assam Rifles personnel but no incriminating materials were found”. The next day at around 2.30 am, the Assam Rifles men again raided the residence of Atoka, Midland Colony, Dimapur. On September 12 at around 3.30 am, MIP said the residence of Hosheto, joint secretary located at Naga Cemetery, Dimapur was raided by Assam Rifles in his absence and “took away family stored goods”.
MIP said the cease-fire ground rules held no meaning for the Assam Rifles as they went on a rampage causing immense physical and mental pain to the children and family members of GPRN/NSCN members. Such unwarranted actions also created fear psychosis in the neighbourhood, said MIP.
Pointing out that the statement of CFSB chairman Lt General (retd) NK Singh “went to deaf ears”, MIP reminded that the latter had stated that such raids amounted to harassment if no incriminating materials were found during raids. MIP said if AR functioned within the limits of cease-fire ground rules, it would also follow suit. However, if they further choose to ignore the cease-fire rules, GPRN/NSCN said it would be compelled to brush aside the cease-fire rules and confront them head on.
