Guwahati, September 27, 2014: Certainly all roads of the city will not lead to the Nehru Stadium tomorrow where the title clash of the 63rd Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament will take place.

Two local giants – ASEB Sports Club and Green Valley Sports Club, the champions and runners-up respectively of the recently concluded GSA Super League, will lock horns for the crown. The kick off is at 2.30 pm.

Gone are the days. There will be no long queues. The organisers, Guwahati Sports Association, did not make drastic attempt to open advance booking counters in the RG Baruah Sports Complex today. They know that hardly a few hundred die heart supporters of the competing teams will gather tomorrow and they will have an easy time collecting their tickets.

The final will be played tomorrow and the curtain of the GSA football season will come down with the final.

ASEB, the former champions will face some trouble in fielding their team as their captain and the most valuable player Sanjoy Boro and dependable striker Jessy Vanlalmuana will not be able to play for being cautioned twice in previous matches.

However, they have some good players in their ranks like defender Mitradev Swargiary, midfielder Sanatumba Sarma, strikers William Gangte, Karma Narzary and above all the ever dependable goalkeeper Daoga Brahma.

On the otherhand, the star striker of Green Valley team, Nigerian Michael Lucky was injured in the last two matches and he had to be substituted for an hamstring injury. If he can’t recover, the striking force of the team will definitely suffer some a setback. But their skipper Shabir Ali, striker George Prince and defender Jenga Rongmei are seen in right form in the last couple of matches. Their goalkeeper Cheeradeep Chattopadhaya is also in peak form.

Considering all the factors, a tough contest can be expected in tomorrow’s final. But as far a the result of the last Super League, Green Valley can be considered as favourites as they beat ASEB in the last match of championship round and played draw in the preliminary stage.
