Imphal, September 15, 2014: Dr Krishan Kant Paul was sworn in as the 15th Governor of Manipur today succeeding VK Duggal.

At a solemn function held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan at 3 pm today, High Court of Manipur Chief Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra delivered the oath of office and secrecy to Dr Krishan Kant Paul.

Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Council of Ministers, Deputy Speaker MK Preshow Shimray, Parliamentary Secretaries and MLAs were also present at the swearing in ceremony.

Former Chief Ministers Rishang Keishing, Radhabinod Koijam, Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga, DGP Shahid Ahmad, high-ranking civil and police officers and senior citizens too attended the function.

Later, newly sworn in Governor Krishan Kant Paul inspected a guard of honour.

Krishan Kant Paul who replaced former Governor VK Duggal is also the Governor of Meghalaya and he would be sworn in as the Governor of Mizoram tomorrow.

VK Duggal was in office here for a period of about eight months.
