426 Hill villages are under 19 Valley Police Stations

Imphal, August 25, 2014: As many as 426 villages situated in hill districts are under the jurisdictions of 19 police stations located in the valley districts.

Loktak Police station lying in the valley covers 56 hill villages, while 38 hill villages fall under the jurisdiction of Sugnu Police station in Thoubal district.

Valley police stations of Kumbi and Moirang cover 27 and 30 hill villages respectively, while Yaingangpokpi and Sagolmang police stations cover 30 and 35 hill villages within their jurisdictions.

Sekmai PS covers 4 villages of the hill districts, while 19 hill villages fall under the jurisdiction of Lamlai Police station.

Police stations of Irilbung and Andro cover 6 and 21 villages of hill districts respectively, while Jiribam Police station and Borobekra Police station 5 and 19 hill villages respectively.

Thoubal PS and Kakching PS have 8 hill villages each under their area of jurisdiction, while Lilong PS covers 5 hill villages, Waikhong PS has 12 hill villages, and Yairipok PS controls 29 hill villages.

Nambol and Bishnupur Police stations share 9 and 16 hill villages under them.
