According to the PIB-Defence Wing, the troops of Red Shield Division immediately launched a joint operation at 3 pm with the personnel from the NCB after a specific input was received from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), a consignment of 1.550kg of cocaine addressed in the names of Paouln Simte & Khaijapau from general area of Tuibong in Churachandpur town.
On reaching the suspected location, the team apprehended Paolun Simte (58), s/o (L) Kama Simte of D Phailian and Khaijapau (65), s/o (L) Zinglian of Thingkangphai, Churachandpur District.
1.550kg of cocaine worth approximately Rs 8 crore was seized from their possession.
