Chandel civil bodies condemn transfer of teachers

Chandel, August 31, 2014: Notwithstanding the lack of basic infrastructure which is accompanied by shortage of teachers and absence of headmaster/headmistress in the school, parents and students of the area continue to opt the school, thereby, making Chakpikarong Government High School as one of the best schools in the subdivisional headquarters with as many as 558 students enrolled in the current academic session.

At present, Chakpikarong Government high school is in deploring situation.

the recent posting and transfer order of 5 teachers of the school and other 4 teachers of Toupokpi High school, notified by the State Government would severely affect the students.

In this connection several Civil bodies of Chandel including CNPO, ANTA and ALT Chakpikarong Branch have appealed to the department concerned to provide the required number of teachers which the shcool authority has been demanding repeatedly.

Briefing the mediapersons, Chairman of the Chakpikarong Government High School SMDC, Hl Thungam informed that the school is now left with only 13 teachers to teach around 558 students.

The total strength of the staffs is supposed to be 28 but only 20 staffs were sanctioned.

Out of the 20 teachers, 2 teachers were posted in Tengnoupal and Liwachangning High Schools and 5 teachers were transferred.

Therefore transferring 5 teachers when there is already inadequate teachers is unjustified, he added.

President of ALT Chakpikarong Chakpikarong Branch Ws Ruwngwar urged the department to stay the transfer order of 5 teachers and another four of Toupokpi High School.

While appealing the department to consider the plight of the students, the president stated that CNPO will support any democratic form of agitation in connection with the matter.
