Locals to repair Jiri Tipaimukh road

Jiribam, September 7, 2014: On a move to ease the adversities of the people, the Barak Circle Development Demand Committee, Jiribam (BCDDC) and the locals of the Barak Circle will declare a general strike on September 10 from 6am to 6 pm in order to renovate Jiri-Tipaimukh road, the only mode of transportation in Barak Circle.

BCDDC chairman, Kh Rajesh, said, "Despite repeated demands and appeals to the authority concerned to repair the Jiri-Tipaimukh road, nothing has been initiated till date. Therefore, coming September 10, we have decided to call a general strike and renovate the road starting from Durgapur till Makha Basti."
