Bandh supporters blocked the road along the district headquarters and Chakpikarong Sub-divisional headquarters. Shops and market remained closed while the Government offices in the district headquarters recorded low attendance.
While deliberating the problems and grievances of the district, Wng Kohring Anal, president of ANTA told media persons that despite repeated agitation and submitting a number of memorandum requesting that the the 17 km long Pallel-Chandel road be repaired, no developmental step has been taken up so far.
He added that the Union would take up rigorous action in case the State Government fails to repair the road before Christmas.
He also appealed the State Government to cancel the Chakpi Multi Purpose Project and demanded an immediate revocation of transfer order of Chandel DC and also to include Chandel block under NERCORMP III.
