Dimapur, September 29, 2014 (NNN): Troops of 18 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles conducted two search operations based on specific information in Jalukie, Peren district of Nagaland on September 24 and apprehended three NSCN (IM) cadres alongwith four weapons, assorted ammunition, IMFL and incriminating documents, according to a delayed press release of the PRO-IGAR(North) based in Kohima.

The press note of the IGAR (North) claimed today that on receipt of specific information about the presence of unauthorised weapons in a house in general area New Market Colony, troops of 18 Assam Rifles launched a search operation and recovered one point 22 rifle, one 12 bore rifle, assorted ammunition, incriminating documents and illegal tax collection books from the house.

During the operation Hainazin Ningkon, Under Secretary, NSCN (IM), of Peren and Heguikam Pame, cadre of NSCN (IM), of Tamenglong (Manipur) were apprehended and handed over to Jalukie Police Station alongwith recoveries, the IGAR (North) added.

It then said, in another operation, troops of 18 Assam Rifles searched a house in general area Jalukie Colony, Ward No-09 and recovered one point 22 pistol, one point 22 rifle, ammunition, incriminating documents, illegal tax collection receipts and 364 bottles/cans of illegal liquor from the house of Deituateung Newme, Leacy, NSCN (IM), of Peren who was subsequently apprehended.

The apprehended individual alongwith recovered items were handed over to Jalukie Police Station, the IGAR (North) .

In another incident, the PRO-IGAR (North) said, based on specific information, 29 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles launched an operation in general area Naharbari Gate, Dimapur and apprehended one arms peddler alongwith one 7.65 mm pistol on September 25. The individual was identified as Mr Yasangwu Yimchunger, of Khongkha, Kiphire, Nagaland.

The apprehended individual alongwith recovered items have been handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur, the PRO-IGAR (North) said.
