New Delhi, September 1, 2014: Bangladesh and India are likely to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral cooperation for prevention of human trafficking and rehabilitation of the victims of trafficking during the Home Secretary level talks that get under way in Dhaka tomorrow.

The MoU titled “Memorandum of Understanding between Bangladesh and India on bilateral cooperation for prevention of human trafficking, specially trafficking of women and children, rescue, recovery, repatriation and reintegration of victims of trafficking,” is envisaged to help in addressing the human trafficking issues.

Both the countries are currently working on the issue under a ‘standard operation procedure’. A joint task force working on human trafficking problems between Bangladesh and India has prepared the MoU.
