Imphal, September 10 2014: A day after suspected cadres of NSCN (IM) laid triple ambushes on the retreating State forces in Ukhrul district in which one IRB personnel was killed and three others sustained injuries, the Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) Committee has demanded the GoI to produce a white paper on the ceasefire agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCM (IM) and to clarify areas covered by the pact.

Addressing a press meet at its office located at Yaiskul, P Premananda, general secretary organization of MPTC termed the suggestion made by president of BJP Manipur Pradesh Th Chaoba and Tapir Gao, In-Charge of BJP Manipur & Nagaland for withdrawing the State forces deployed in Ukhrul dist to call off the ongoing economic blockade called by UNC as unfortunate, saying interference of the Central Govt regarding deployment of State forces in all the districts is highly condemnable.

He pointed out that the withdrawal of the State forces from Ukhrul dist following instruction of the Central Government implies that the ceasefire agreement between the GoI and the NSCN (IM) is also application in Ukhrul district.

If this is so, then the CM and Dy CM should resign from their respective post on moral ground.

Any solution brought on the Naga issue will be welcomed by MPTC but the party will not accept any solution which is at the cost of territorial integrity of the State, he said.
