Shillong, September 29, 2014: As it still remains unclear whether the Sanjenthong bridge can be completed ahead of the Manipur Sangai Festival 2014 or not, the State Government has decided to repair alternative routes leading to the festival venue.
An inter-departmental meeting presided by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi was held today which deliberated on the Manipur Sangai Festival 2014 .
The meeting largely focused on the incomplete Sanjenthong bridge and the alternative routes which can substitute the link provided by the bridge.
Sanjenthong was pulled apart to keep it up with the demands of the time.
As decided at the meeting, the roads leading from the festival venue to Old Thumbuthong, New Thumbuthong and Minuthong would be repaired.
The meeting also discussed on the accommodation of VIPs who would attend the festival as well as the type of stalls to be constructed.
